Welcoming Grief

In our death and grief averse times - how would it be to make create a space of welcoming for what has been exiled for too long? What does our wise and intelligent body know about grief? What does our grief need to flow and be released?

Join me on this six week course exploring the wild landscapes of grief. When we pause and pay attention to the body, and ask what wants attention, one of the most enduring themes that comes is unacknowledged grief. For many of us, we simply don’t know what to do with it when it comes. We may fear it or hide it. But like water though, our grief needs to flow and to be welcomed. What lies at the heart of this course is the sacred and essential act of welcoming the truth of our losses - be that personal or collective.

We will explore this rich topic through Discussion, Focusing exercises, paired practice, solo reflection and writing explorations held by Bethany Rivers

What we will explore?
  • The body’s knowing about grief
  • Working with our fears and protection
  • The landscapes of grief - types of grief we carry
  • Transgenerational grief
  • Intuitive ceremony
  • Grieving in community
