1:1 Individual Sessions

My passion is to support people in living a life where they listen compassionately to their body, where they have Focusing as a tool they can use whenever they wish solo or in partnership. I love to accompany people on journeys to this end.

What I offer
  • Journeys to learn the essentials of Focusing, where you will be guided through sessions and taught some take home skills.

  • Journeys to go deeper into a specific area where you need some extra support, eg, decisions, dreams, self compassion, emotional healing.

  • Journeys of Untangling® As a trainee Untangling Facilitator, I offer 1-1 sessions exploring this profound method developed by Ann Weiser Cornell and Barbara McGavin

These journeys could be 3, 6 or 12 sessions and maybe longer. One thing is sure, at some point, you will be ready to embark on your own and live a Focusing life!

What I don’t offer

Open ended on-going support -  similar to what a Therapist or Counsellor would offer.

How is having Focusing sessions different from therapy?

Although Focusing is therapeutic and many therapists use Focusing as part of their work, having a session with a Focusing guide is not the same. Here are some of the ways you might find it different from many kinds of therapy:

  • You will not be asked to disclose details or history about the issues you’re working on, though you may share them.

  • You will not be diagnosed, or given advice about your life situations.

  • You decide if you want more sessions, how frequently and when to stop having sessions.

  • The emphasis is on your relationship with yourself and your body (rather than your relationship with me)

Focusing can be a very useful skill to add to an existing therapy you might be involved in as a therapist or a client.
